For the past three years we´ve been feeding you snippets of information on a working project that started out as Through Maasailand. Well! I can proudly reveal that on the 21st of October 2007 at 8.00pm on The History Channel, the documentary Africa's Greatest Explorer was shown for the very first time. Africa's Greatest Explorer is the work and passion of photographer and now film maker Mike Hacker.

Our contribution in the form of music was a small one in context of the eight years of work that Mike went through but it feels good to have been a part of such a prestigious project. More is on the horizon for us as a result of our involvement and we will be sure to let you know as we find out more.

Many thanks to Mark Lewis from www.partnersinrhyme.com for his kind donation of sample libraries and further more, for his almost immediate response to my contacting him and his excellent company. Considering we are on the other side of the world and my contacting him hit hit before 9am, we are well impressed and very happy with the libraries he has kindly donated to us and the www.throughmaasailand.com project. I have just started a blog to discuss any musical issues regarding the use of computers in recording and music creation. I am also collecting reviews and articles of some of the many excellent free VST plug ins out here in the net, along side some commercial ones I have bought and use. I have been using Cubase extensively for a number of years now and am fairly well up to speed with most of the functions and its workings, but like everyone else I am still learning. I´d like to get a little community together to share tales, swap free plugins and have recommendations etc. I´m not interested in forum type opinions or ANALysis - I´d like to keep it friendly and informative. I´m not a complete expert, I don't know much about programming languages or coding, over analyzing frequency responses, which chip has the highest tolerance to fish or why "X" digital converter is better than "Y", but I am a heavy user of cubase, I have done LOTS of recording with it, since the days of Pro24 in fact, on an atari 520. Anyway, here is my little blog. Aimed at Cubase users and computer musicians I´m hoping to build an exhaustive resource, although there are some excellent ones out there, but as I have nothing better to do between recording projects and while the kids are at school and the wife is at work, well why not.
